FAMILY DISCUSSION
To prepare for our Epic Bible Story discuss the following questions as a family:
Have you ever been in a large storm?
Have you ever been afraid of thunder, lightning, or heavy rain? If so, why?
What do you do when you are scared?
Is it wrong to be afraid?
In today’s Epic Bible Story we will learn about how Jesus and his disciples got caught in a large storm while on a boat. Let’s see how the disciples responded the storm and their fears.
GOD’S EPIC STORY
This week’s Bible story is presented by Sharefaith Kids:
This week’s Bible story wonderings:
I wonder how long did it took for the disciples to wake Jesus.
I wonder what the boat looked like and how long the trip would normally take.
I wonder why the disciples still had problems believing Jesus after seeing a miracle like this.
EXPERIENCING THE STORY
Jesus Is With Me
Jesus can calm the storms in our lives just like he calmed the storm for the disciples. Below is a link to a poster that says “JESUS IS WITH ME!” Print it off and then find water color paints, markers, or crayons to color it like an ocean. For some extra fun blow air through straw on your paint or sprinkle table salt on the wet paint. Then hang it is your room as a reminder that Jesus is always with you and can always calm your storms.
MEMORIZING THE STORY
Memory Verse: “At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord.” Philippians 2:10-11.
Print off the Bible Memory Verse Flash Cards and use them to help you learn our new memory verse.
